Railay Beach

Those who want the unspoiled effect of a Thailand holiday should visit Railay Beach. Railay Beach is located off of the coast of Thailand and is a very small island. There are a few hotels throughout the beach but for the most part, it is largely untouched. Nature enthusiasts and those who want to get away from it all enjoy visiting this tranquil part of Thailand.

If you like a lot of adventure on your holiday, or simply want to enjoy nature at its finest, Railay Beach is the ideal tourist destination for you. Despite the fact that it is a small island, there is so much beauty and so much to do that you can easily spend a couple of weeks here without seeing everything.

Do you like sea kayaking? This is similar to canoeing but not as dangerous. A sea kayak is less likely to tip over because the bottom of the boat is flat. Even beginners can learn to maneuver these small boats that are made for two people, along the coast of the island so they can take in all of the natural beauty.

Deep sea diving is one of the biggest adventure attractions in Thailand and Railay Beach offers many different diving spots. You will have to rent a boat to take you off of the coast where you can dive into the Andaman sea to spot the various aqua life that is native to this part of the world. If you just want to snorkel, you can do this as well, just off of the coast of the beach. Snorkeling is easy and fun for people of all ages. It is the best way to see some of the sea life that unique to the area.

Elephant trekking is a very popular activity throughout Thailand and even more so in Railay Beach where the elephant camp is more spacious and the mahouts more gentle and knowledgeable. One of the things you have to be careful about when elephant trekking is that the giant creatures are handled properly. Elephants are gentle animals, but if mistreated can end up causing serious harm to anyone around them because of their size. Many of the elephant camps in Thailand treat the animals poorly or are just an opportunity to pose while sitting atop an elephant. Elephant trekking in Railay Beach is an adventure of a lifetime as you can ride the elephants throughout the jungles with your gentle and experienced guide.

Despite the fact that the island is small, there are plenty of good places to eat. The local restaurants feature some of the freshest seafood imaginable and the hotel restaurants offer a variety of cuisine, including Chinese, Indian and Western. For the freshest seafood and most authentic Thai food available, come to Railay Beach.

Whether you want to lounge on the beach and soak up the tropical sun, dive into the crystal clear water and enjoy the ocean life. Or if you want to explore the jungle on the back of a gentle, Asian elephant, the choice is yours when you visit Railay Beach, Thailand.
